It's been a year.
My sister is an incredible person. When you grow up so close in age there isn’t a scar, a broken heart or story your sister doesn’t know. They’re the keeper of your life story, your secrets, and you them. I have never been so scared as I was a year ago. So scared to lose my person, to lose that bond, those shared stories and laughs.
Today, we can celebrate Megan Zoeller Chlopek’s triumph, perseverance and sheer force of will to stare down death and say “not yet”. She is getting better, and she will. We still have stories to share, adventures to go on, and victories to celebrate.
Thank you to all the people who stepped in an filled those shoes, shared those stories and kept me whole. I love each of you more than you know.
